Generation Health Medical Fund

Generation Health Medical Fund, an open medical fund, was launched by Sovereign Health on 1 December 2000 with a refreshingly different product profile. Sovereign Health Zimbabwe was the first professional medical aid Administration Company in Zimbabwe when it was established in 1999.

Sovereign Health is owned by Zimnat Life, part of the TA Group, and by Medscheme South Africa one of the largest medical aid administrators in South Africa. Medscheme has a footprint in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Sovereign Health also offers healthcare services through its clinic, Sovereign Health Services trading as TA Health Services, where GP consultations and dental services are available.

Healthcare products in sync with changing times

The Generation Health Medical Fund benefit design is modelled along the "new generation" employee health care concept which offers healthcare cover that is radically different from the traditional approach, and is relevant to the prevailing economic circumstances of both corporate clients and individual members. In the traditional approach to the management of employee health care benefits, there is no deliberate, in-built mechanism to manage the costs on behalf of corporate clients and individual members.
